Computer : A New Scope and Dimension of Textiles
Computer : A New Scope and Dimension of Textiles
Computer is an erratic invention and brought about new revolutions and artifacts in different sections of human’s society of infrastructural development. Likewise, other sections having coverage of computer technology the field of textiles also gaining huge coverage of computers in every sections. It is reducing the workload of people and to where man has to do a high level of production and maintain the total flow managements.
Computer Technology includes in production, manufacturing, management, keeping records, Human resource management etc. As the world is advancing the taste, the fashion is adding a new dimension in textiles and which is totally impossible to maintain without computer intervention.
Computerized technology is now more preferred medium. The industry manufacturers are largely dependent in it. The software are used according to the structure and planning of hardware. As an example we see in Kadena Sportswear how the manage all things:
SOFTWARE NAME | ELABORATION | FUNCTIONS |
ERP | Enterprise Resource Planning | Attendance, Human Resource Planning. |
Fast Neact | Fast Neact | Planning, designing. |
QuickBooks | Quickbooks | Database, Accounts. |
100% | Hundred Percent | Security. |
CAD | Computer Aided Design | Designing. |
PLM | Product Lifecycle Management | Maintaining Product. |
In modern era, computer has focused more on Virtual Simulation in manufacture of Textiles. Specially mostly applied in E-shopping and perform an investigation of the desired Apparel the customer wants.
The Virtual Simulation Technology works in the following way:
Virtual reality (VR) typically refers to computer technologies that use software to generate the realistic images, sounds and other sensations that replicate a real environment (or create an imaginary setting), and simulate a user’s physical presence in this environment. VR has been defined as “…a realistic and immersive simulation of a three-dimensional environment, created using interactive software and hardware, and experienced or controlled by movement of the body” or as an “immersive, interactive experience generated by a computer”.
Virtual reality is also called “virtual realities”, “immersive multimedia”, “artificial reality” or “computer-simulated reality”. A dictionary definition for “cyberspace” states that this word is a synonym for “virtual reality”, but the two terms are fundamentally different (something that is “virtual” does not necessarily need to rely on a network, for instance).
Research into virtual garments began to gain momentum during the 1980s, when the film industry became interested in 3D computer generated images. Since then, different systems for 3D visual garment simulation have been developed form different perspectives and with various objectives. In the field of computer graphics, the first applications for mechanical clothing simulation appeared in 1987 with the work of Terzopoulos. The so called virtually try-on solutions have gained importance in the last few years in different areas of the fashion industry. Virtual prototyping is a technique in the process of garment development that involves application of computer aided design intended for garments development and virtual prototyping of them. When the virtual prototyping is accurate the garment fit to the body model reflects and combines characteristics of the garment style, garment pattern design, virtual body model and mechanical properties of textiles.
Virtual Technologies used in Apparel manufacture:
1 . 3D- Stitching :
2 . Virtual Input of Body Measurement through simulation :
3 . Virtual Measurement Taking :
A complete measurement laboratory was set up to allow the automatic measurement of the reflection properties of flat material samples.
4 . Model Verification and Visualization of Models :
Technical drawings, a model description, seam cutting schemes and specifications have to be developed for the chosen model. An appropriate textile fabric (or several) has to be chosen for the developed model, its characteristics have to be described briefly, a pattern has to be scanned and added. The choice has to be justified. A picture, an object (its picture), a landscape or another inspirational object have to be found.
5 . 3D-Try On :
6 . 3D-Virtual Try On :
The advancement of these computer technologies has given people more convenient way for manufacturing of their desired Garment. Moreover, customers from overseas don’t need to travel distances for their desired product, neither to give orders. So ordering has become much more fun for the customers.
Computer Technologies are maintained precisely by the First world countries indeed now a challenging fact for Second and Third world countries. Mostly challenging factors are: – Maintenance of Hardware and Software, Skilled Technician, Well Trained Technician, Cost of the Hardware, Organizational Infrastructures, Geographical Locations, Climatic Conditions etc. Avoiding these factors, the computer technologies are well playing for the development of Seller and Customer relationships.
