There are two types of derivatives : Rib and Matt. In rib weave, it produces rib or cord effect in warp/weft direction. Used as grosgrain cloth, mattress cloth,hair cords, blankets etc. Matt is constructed by extending the plain weave both vertically and horizontally. Matt weave finds extensive uses for a great variety of fabrics such as dress materials, shirtings, sail cloth, duck cloth etc.
Melt Spinning , Dry spinning and Wet Spinning Method
Man-made fibers are manufactured by spinning the polymer. There are three major types of spinning process. They are-
█ Melt Spinning (It is used for polymers that can be melted easily.)
█ Dry Spinning (It involves dissolving the polymer into a solution that can be evaporated.)
█ Wet Spinning (It is used when the solvent can’t be evaporated and must be removed by chemical means.)

Speed Frame and function of speed frame
The output from the draw frame is fed into the roving frame (also called ‘speed frame or simplex machine or flyer frame‘) where the linear density of sliver is reduced by drafting and the resultant product is called the roving. After the drafting operation, the roving is wound on the bobbin. During winding, a little amount of twist is imparted to the roving.

A twill weave is characteristics by diagonal ribs (twill lines) on the face of the fabric. These twill lines are produce by letting all warp ends interlace in the same way but displaing the interlaceing points of each end by one pick relative to that of the previous end while the plain weave can only be woven in one form, there exit several options with regrad to twills.

The weaving m/c is technically termed as loom .The loom is a device or m/c in which interlacement of warp and weft yarn performed and thus fabric is produced. In 1930's, eventually, each weaving machine driven individually by an electric motor was developed, this loom drive concept has remained in use until the present.

Effect of Twist on Yarn and Fabric Properties
The twist in yarns can be caused to affect the properties of the fabric in which the yarns are included.When yarns are incorporated in a fabric such that adjacent sets of yarn vary in the direction of twist, different effects like the shade effect, stripe effect etc. can be produced because of light reflecting from two sets of yarns.
