Thread Consumption For a Knit Jacket
Thread Consumption For a Knit Jacket
At first we should take middle size sample. If the sizes are S, M, L among this we need size “M”. Then follow the sample style like-
- Types of machine & stitch produced from M/C used to complete garments .
- Types of thread used to complete garments.
- Should have enough knowledge about different process of a garment.
- Should have knowledge about different machine value such as m/c consume how much percent threads.
- Check SPI of each process
- First measure the length of seam in inch, then multiply by machine value, then we get total thread value in inch, then divided the total thread value in inch by 39.37 for getting value of Total thread in Ex- O/L M/c value 24 ,Seam length of sleeve join is 51inch , so 54*24=1224 inch, then 1224/39.37=31.09 meter.
Chart of Machine value of different Machine are given below :

Here , we used
M/C M/C Value.
* P/M (Plain m/c) 05
* 2 Thread F/L (Flat lock m/c) 08
* 3 Thread F/L 22
* 5 Thread F/L 30
* 4 Thread O/L (over lock m/c) 24
Finally we get 507 meter sewing thread we need to complete one pcs garments.
If we have order qty 25000 pcs ,how much sewing thread we need to complete this order?
So, 25000*507=12675000 meter/4000 meter per cone .So 3168 cone + add wastage percent .
